Questions about your car hire

Is there an excess or deposit?
No. From age 23, AblaCars rentals have no excess and no deposit: comprehensive cover is included and we do not block a deposit on your card. Drivers aged 20 to 22 have a daily surcharge and an excess depending on the vehicle group.
Do I need a credit card to rent a car?
No. A debit card is fine. For in-person handovers, we also accept cash for any outstanding balance.
Where can I pick up the car in Menorca?
We deliver at Menorca Airport (Parking P1), at the Port of Mahón if you arrive by ferry, and at hotels, villas and apartments in the areas where we operate. You choose the location when booking.
What if my flight is delayed or arrives late at night?
Your car will still be waiting. If you booked an in-person handover, we allow a 30-minute grace period for flight delays: we can meet you in person until 21:30. If you arrive later, we automatically switch the booking to Self-Service at no extra cost. With Self-Service, you can collect the car even if you land during the night.
What is the minimum age to rent a car in Menorca?
You must be at least 20 years old and have held your driving licence for at least 2 years. Drivers aged 20 to 22 pay a daily surcharge and have an excess depending on the vehicle group. From age 23 there is no young-driver surcharge or excess. The maximum rental age is 75.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before pick-up. From 72 hours before pick-up until the collection time, a 25% charge applies. In the event of a no-show, the full amount is charged.
